     As the acoustic specification of movable walls is of paramount importance to clients, an acoustic testing program was recently completed at The Building Test Centre, British Gypsum featuring the NW100 movable wall. With results of 54dB & 57dB achieved in accordance with BS EN ISO 140:3, the excellent performance of Alco Systems movable walls is highlighted again

     After completing a rigorous year long course at Derby University, Alco Wall Systems are proud to announce that their employees David Bolton and Nick Rowan have achieved the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.

    This continues Alco Wall Systems dedication towards the field of acoustics; we are currently the only UK based manufacturer of acoustic movable partitions to have our own dedicated acoustic test facility to develop better performing products for our clients.

    Alco Walls Perform Well at the Albert Hall

    When one of the changing rooms at the Royal Albert Hall needed some alteration, Alco Walls were ready to help. Giving the flexibility to expand the single room into a larger one, Winnie Wong of Originate Architects chose the NW100 Acoustic Movable Wall with four panels to do the job. To enhance the look of the sub-divided rooms a special digital print on Formica was used

  4. Alco Walls Achieves Achilles Level 5 Accreditation

    Alco Wall Systems Limited has recently achieved the prominent Achilles BuildingConfidence Level 5 accreditation.
    The Achilles BuildingConfidence scheme is quickly becoming recognised as the standard for supplier excellence within the industry and is being adopted by many main contractors. Achilles developed the BuildingConfidence accreditation working in partnership with Bovis Lend Lease as a collaborative supply chain accreditation standard designed for the construction industry

    Nusing Manufacturing Invest in Sound Technology

    Nusing Manufacturing the production arm of Alco Wall Systems Ltd, is the only UK based manufacturer of Acoustic Movable Partition Walls to have its own onsite Acoustic Laboratory, operated by IOA (Institute of Acoustics) accredited acousticians.

    The team at Nusing Manufacturing have made the leap to incorporate digitally visualising sound testing utilising the Norsonic 848 Acoustic Camera to aid in the acoustic performance of their products.

    Alco Education Projects Continue in Hull

    Alco Wall Systems have recently completed their second Hull Academy project at Archbishop Sentamu.

    The contract was carried out with Morgan Sindall Construction and London Architects HKS, and includes six NW100 Movable Walls achieving between 51 & 55dbRw, one of which is 6.6 metres high in the Drama Studio/Stage area.

    Alco Wall Secures Doncaster School Project

    Alco Wall Systems have recently secured a large School project at Campsmount Technology College in Norton,
    Doncaster, for Wates Construction Ltd, to install 15 NW100 Movable Walls at 55 & 46dbRw acoustic ratings.

    Alco Installs First Ever Video Movable Wall

    Alco Wall Systems have recently undertaken a very unique and extremely complex installation of four Video Wall Panels within the new look Nike 1948 store in London’s trendy Shoreditch. The new 1948 store will not only stock the most exclusive Nike sportswear but will serve as a community space, encouraging Londoner’s to gather at the store for screenings and events on the run up to and during the London 2012 Olympics.

    ‘You cannot help but feel the store is an impressive example of how digital media on moveable wall panels can really enhance the stores layout and plays an integral role in the stores screenings and events’ said Ben Maher, Alco Walls Regional Sales Manager

  9. Whitebeck Court

    Architects Becoming ‘Facinated’ By Alco's Faceted Walls

    Alco Wall Systems have recently been asked to design and install several faceted ‘curved’ walls on sites in the North of England. This was, until recently, an unusual occurrence, which requires very high standards of both manufacturing and site installation.

    One such job has recently been completed at Whitebeck Court, in Blackley, Manchester, for Wates Living Space, and designed by Leeds architects West and Machell.

  10. New Five Metre High Training Rig

    Loughborough Factory Showcases New Development and Training Centre

    Members of the Alco Wall sales team were shown around the new £60,000 training centre on a recent visit to the Loughborough factory. The new facility now sits alongside the existing acoustic laboratory and the fully equipped demonstration showroom and is a further example of the continuous development program in place across every aspect of the organization.
