Alco Walls Supports Derby University and IOA with New Acoustics Course

Alco Wall Systems is proud to support Derby University and the IOA (Institute of Acoustics) with their new short course in building acoustics measurements.
The five-day course provides a basic knowledge of the methodology for measuring and reporting sound insulation and aspects of room acoustics, together with relevant provisions of key standards and guidance.
Who should attend?
Technical and scientific staff in local authorities, new recruits to building acoustics consultancies and professionals such as building control officers who need a working knowledge of sound insulation methodologies and a basic appreciation of room acoustics.
The course will include a practical test which will be held at Alco Systems national training centre and acoustic laboratory which is located at our Loughborough manufacturing facility; Accordial Manufacturing Ltd.
On the final day of the course there will be an examination, which will include a practical test. Successful candidates will receive a professionally recognised certificate.
It is intended that the course will be held twice yearly - the first course commencing in September 2012 with an examination date provisionally set for 28 September.
