Loughborough Factory Showcases New Development and Training Centre

Posted on 22nd March 2011

Members of the Alco Wall sales team were shown around the new £60,000 training centre on a recent visit to the Loughborough factory. The new facility now sits alongside the existing acoustic laboratory and the fully equipped demonstration showroom and is a further example of the continuous development program in place across every aspect of the organization.

The inspiration behind the design of the centre, Alan Turvey explained that he sees the new facilities as an opportunity to create “a centre of excellence, to develop and test new products as well as demonstrating best practice of manual handling and installation techniques to all members of the site teams”
An impressive 5 metre high steel frame equipped with an electronic hoist gives the opportunity to show how high, heavy panels should be correctly installed. Adjustable height tracks fixings also allow training on acoustic barrier installations between the movable wall and the support structure above, even at such great heights.

Three remote stack arrangements have been installed, enabling operatives to be shown how to safely and easily handle large panels through track junctions. There are also track layouts for both cross and guide roller suspension and an electric turntable Z1 semi automatic track junction.

It is hoped that these new unique facilities will not only offer continuous development for those within the company, but will also enable prospective customers and existing clients to see just how much expertise, testing, training and product knowledge is needed to keep  Alco Wall Systems at the very pinnacle of the movable wall industry.
